2006 – 2007: Team Chief for a Company Observer / Controller and Trainer Team,

- Responsible for an 8 man team of combat seasoned veterans that plan, coordinate, instruct, and evaluate collective pre-deployment training for squads, platoons, and companies of the National Guard and Reserve. Mentored and developed members of my team as well as the Junior Military Officers that we train.
- Developed and designed an intense training cycle for Puerto Rican National Guardsman deploying as security elements to the GTMO detention facility.
- Created and command a 205-man ad-hoc company in support Squad Level summer ROTC advanced camp. Chosen from over 60 eligible Captains within the brigade to head this, the most difficult project.
2005 - 2006: Strategic Plans Officer
Baghdad, Iraq
- Junior plans officer for the 18th Airborne Corps and the Multi-National Corp-Iraq. Responsible for planning and integrating maneuver elements into the US Government’s efforts to increase security in Iraq.
- Created the mathematical model and graphic output for the downsizing of American Combat Units given the build-up and training readiness of Iraqi Combat Units. Used web-based interface for information collection across multiple training centers throughout Iraq. Created Excel-based mathematic model to synthesize multiple weighted variables of training readiness in order to make force downsizing recommendation to the Middle-East Combatant Commander and Joint Chiefs.
- Co-authored the initial plan for the creation of US “Transition Teams” in Iraq. Based on several historical models, we created these teams to monitor and facilitate the development of the Iraq Security Forces
- Co-authored the plan to secure the western border of Iraq and end the influx of foreign fighters by integrating multiple border outposts with kinetic operations from the Army and Marine forces.

2004: Infantry Officer Advanced Course
Ft Benning, GA
A career level professional education for infantry captains to prepare them for command at company level and to serve as staff officers. The course lasts 24 weeks and is broken down into two phases: company and battalion. The emphasis of the course is on the orders and planning process.
2003 – 2004: Strategic Intelligence Liaison
Iraq, Kuwait, Qatar
- Acted as a conduit for strategic intelligence between two major theater commands during the first four months of combat in Iraq. De-conflicted top secret level strategic intelligence collection and emerging combat requirements.
- As part of the Special Operations Command Center in Qatar, I also performed collateral damage estimates for “Time-Sensitive Targeting” by rapidly integrating multiple diverse sets of intelligence to approve real-time target acquisition and engagement.
- Due to uniqueness of position, was the youngest (and lowest ranking) officer invited to the pre-invasion battle conference and invasion confirmation between Special Operations Commanding General and President Bush.
2002 – 2003 Battalion Adjutant
Ft Lewis, WA
Leader of a 15-man personnel administrative center that efficiently processed all administrative and financial transactions for over 700 soldiers. Created a web accessible excel database that effectively automated all the daily work of my predecessor- methodology adopted by all five Battalions within the Brigade.
Company Executive Officer
Ft. Lewis, WA
Second in command of a 174 man Rifle Company. Responsible for maintenance and accountability of vehicles, weapons, night vision devices, communications, and chemical detection equipment valued over $100 million. Officer report highlight: Best Company Executive officer of the 16 I have witnessed.
2000 – 2002: Infantry Platoon Leader
Ft Lewis, WA
Leader of a light infantry company platoon. Responsible for the combat readiness, health, welfare, morale, and discipline of 33 authorized soldiers. Further responsible for the maintenance and readiness of all assigned equipment. Selected as the best Rifle Platoon Leader of nine platoons in the Battalion.
Hobbies/Volunteer Work:
- Volunteer Professional Development Counselor at Lake High School, Lakewood WA. Assist students with setting and achieving their life goals. Especially instrumental in helping students discover their marketable skills and presenting themselves well in an interview.
- Experienced Mountaineer and Guide (16yrs): President of the West Point Mountaineering Team. I routinely instruct mountaineering and advanced rock-climbing skills. This past August I trained and led my three sisters, Dad and his friend on a 5-day trip up Mt Rainier.
